New York Diares: Jack’s Wife Freda

After a day spent in Soho, we walked down to Lafayette street to dine at Jack’s Wife Freda. Going on this trip, I was most anticipating this visit after falling in love with all of Leandra Medine’s (@themanrepeller) food posts. We had to wait about an hour for a table but once seated the service was incredible. Because we ate at the one near Soho, the restaurant was small and filled with people. But who can say they ate dinner with at least ten models seated behind you — not kidding.

New York Diares: Adrienne’s Pizza Bar

Y’all. Everyone knows my love for hamburgers is real but my next favorite meal is my mom’s spaghetti. Hand-in-hand with spaghetti is my reoccurring craving for pizza. On our second day in New York, we visited the 9/11 Memorial Museum (highly recommended) then walked down the street to Century 21. After shopping for a while, we were so hungry that we wondered down Wall street towards Stone street where we sat down for a late lunch. Our restaurant of choice was Adrienne’s Pizza Bar. Oh my goodness people, this place was amazing. Almost everyone with us agreed that this was the best pizza they’ve ever tasted. Please do yourself a favor and visit this place with a big appetite (also bring friends, serving sizes are big). Ugh now I’m craving it!

New York Diares: The Loeb Boathouse

Once pretty weather finally decided to grace us, we rented bikes and rode through Central Park. It was such a beautiful, cool day — it really could not have been any better. After our ride, we walked over to The Loeb Boathouse which is located in the heart of Central Park and had a rather divine brunch. It was the perfect reward for that 6 mile ride.

New York Diares: Gigi on Broadway

While shopping in the original Macy’s, I treated myself to a Louis Vuitton scarf as a congratulations on graduating. Of course I wanted to wear it as soon as I bought it and what better place than at the theatre? Randomly enough, when we asked a hotel worker to take a group picture of us, he told us that he’d get us a ride to the show. And by ride none of us thought he meant limo.

New York Diares: Serendipity 3

I’ve been to New York four times but have since failed to visit Serendipity. When we finally got around to making reservations and going, it wasn’t at all what I was expecting. I thought I’d get there and there would be lines of people crowding the street waiting for an empty table. It might have been because we went on a Monday night and particularly early in the evening, but there was not a crowd of people waiting outside. Although the restaurant was pretty full, it was also very tiny. Walking in it felt a lot like I was entering into Alice in Wonderland. The small space was decorated with large clocks and dozens of lighting fixtures hung from the ceilings. I ordered a hamburger (shocking!) which tasted pretty basic but my mom got the Haight-Ashbury sandwich which was light and very, very delicious. Of course we got the frozen hot chocolate which was an upscale version of a chocolate milkshake — but it sure did hit the spot.
