All you need is 7 minutes and these products for a flawless look.
If you haven’t already noticed, I tend to keep my everyday beauty look simple. Doing my makeup in the morning is one thing I dread most so I try to crunch the time as much as possible. My overall beauty routine takes no more than 7-10 minutes depending on how much energy I put into it. These are the products I use on a daily basis and the order in which I apply them.
Naturally, I have a bit of redness in my face that my powder alone doesn’t cover. I was iffy about getting a primer because I stereotyped it to go hand-in-hand with the “overdone makeup look.” But this one goes on smoothly, moisturizing my skin and creating a good natural-looking toned base for my powder to cover. ($49)
You might recognize this product from Friday Fives: Beauty Secrets. I’ve trialled many powders in my life trying to find the perfect one that would leave my skin looking both pristine and natural. This Lancome powder is my top pick. Depending on how my day is looking, I might skip the primer and just go right ahead with this powder. ($38.50)
If I’d have to describe my eyebrows in one word it’d be “eh”. They aren’t as thick and on fleek as I would like them to be but they aren’t pathetic enough to where they have to go through eyebrow rehab. Thankfully, God (well, Sephora) made this retractable brow pen. I read one time that a pencil alone won’t withhold the oils on your skin for a whole day, therefore you should layer a pencil and a little bit of shadow. I recently started using this pencil and then brushing a little bit of “Buck” from the Naked palate over for an all day hold. ($13)
After curling my lashes, I apply this mascara to lengthen and separate my lashes. This stuff is heavenly. It keeps my lashes looking lengthy, healthy, and alive throughout my entire day. Please do yourself a favor and purchase a tube. ($24)
There isn’t a time when I’m not mixing mascaras. My beauty look is too bipolar to commit to one type of mascara. This volumizing mascara by Smashbox is the best mascara to add depth to your lashes. When I use this (especially when applied after the Makeup Forever mascara) my lashes touch my brows (which are now temporarily on fleek!). ($22)
You might think its odd that I use two different brand eyeliners that do the same thing. If you read below you’ll see that although the Kat Von D liner is eyeliner that fell straight from heaven, it dries out while applying. Therefore, if I have enough time, I use this Sephora brand liner on the base of my eyes and the tattoo liner to create the flick. ($14)
One day, I walked into Sephora and asked a worker what the best eyeliner to create a cat eye is. She led me to this. Not gonna lie this Kat Von D liner can create a bad a** line but my only problem is you can’t use it on both eyes back to back because it dries out. Other than that flaw, I love it. ($19)
Do you use any products that you think I must know about? — Because trust me, I need to know.
