When I first moved Baton Rouge four months to the day today, I was excited but also very nervous about attending a new school in a different city. When I moved to Baton Rouge, I never expected to actually love college and everything that comes with it as much as I actually did. I learned so many things in the short four months of my first semester that I never excepted. I learned the importance of independence and the growth that comes with it. I learned how important it is to stay close with friends from home, but also not be afraid to make new friends. (I was telling my mom yesterday how crazy it is that I have friends from all over the place.) I learned how important it is to keep an open mind, whether it be in regards to a certain situation or to a person.I learned how much I actually HATE drama, and how important it is to be friends with everyone, no matter what. I learned the importance of sleep, but I woke up everyday excited to see what the day would bring. My morals and my relationship with God was tested, which in the end made me feel the need to grow closer with Him.
I am so thankful that I have been given the opportunity to go to college at LSU because I have grown up so much in the past fourth months. The friends I have made are all so special to me and the lessons I have learned will definitely last a lifetime. And I can’t wait to see what the rest of my college career shall bring me:)
